Today was my first day of school, although everyone else started yesterday. My 20 students were well behaved and really helped out today. I started off the day talking to them about why I was not there yesterday - telling them that my Grandpa had died and that I had to go to his funeral. I talked to them about the fact that I might be sad at times for a while, because I misssed my Grandpa. I then let them share if they knew someone in their family who had died.
I did not accomplish quite what I had planned, but the day went well and I made it through. I am not going to push myself to get through stuff - I am just going to survive for a while. One student went and told her mom right away that today was the best day of school ever. Another one told his mom that he loved school. I guess this is a sign that things will be ok.
Emily and Michael both did well back at school today. Michael said he was said for a while, as the devotions touched on a funeral. I really appreciated the fact that he was able to verbalize that at home. He is dealing with this sudden loss of Grandpa better than I am.
Continue to pray for healing of our hearts as well as the ability for my aunts and uncles to see what God has planned for Grandma.
As a Christian mother of two wonderful children, I have been called as a mother, wife, teacher, carpool driver, softball/baseball/basektball/soccer/volleyball/soap box derby mom, supporter, lover, reader and many other things. Praise the Lord for these opportunities to serve my Lord and my family.

Grandpa Mueller
Last night my Grandfather Ruben Mueller was reunited with his brother, sister and parents in heaven. He died around midnight eastern time. He was such a fine example of faith - he relied on God for everything. He showed God's love in all He did - and he loved everyone he met. He showed me how to appreciate nature, read scripture, have routine devotions, pray, and meditate. He showed me the importance of an afternoon nap (although I don't do this one much) as well as the importance of having quiet time to talk and listen to God. I thank the Lord for this fine father of faith.
Please pray for our family as we grieve his loss and go forward with all that we have to do. Pray that we are able to celebrate with joy Grandpa's family reunion in heaven. We know that someday we will join in this reunion.
